Berberian Sound Studio
In 1976, Berberian Sound Studio is one of the cheapest post-production studios in Italy where sordid horror films have their sound processed. Timid Englishman Gilderoy is the sound engineer hired to mix the sound for the latest film by horror maestro, Santini, who is difficult to work with. Gilderoy devotes himself to his work, but finds himself growing more and more homesick and feels corrupted by the violent material he is working on. Eventually he is lost in a world of sonic and personal mayhem, confronting his demons to maintain some kind of balance in a world of exploitation.
