The Patience Stone
In a war-torn country, Afghanistan or elsewhere, a young woman watches over her older husband whose war injury has left him in a comatose state. One day, her vigil changes. After ten years of living under his control, she begins saying things she's never said before, telling him about her childhood, her loneliness, her dreams, desires and secrets. Her husband has unconsciously become syngué sabour - a magical black stone that, according to Persian mythology, absorbs the plight of those who confide in it. Her confessions are unrestrained and she seeks to free herself from her suffering through her words. Then after weeks of talking she begins to act, discovering herself in a relationship with a young soldier.
